I suppose I better start off with an opening statement.
I decided after much deliberation to start a blog. Ive worked in the auto industry for almost 10 years. About 25 months ago I moved to WA from NC where I worked at a very large Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership. Mostly what we had going for us was wholesale parts. We had 1.5 million in inventory and covered two states with about 20 delivery trucks every single day. It was a well oiled machine, but there was a lack of passion. I came to work, busted tale all day selling parts and went home beat.
In February of 2007 I moved to WA to be with my then girlfriend. We had a kid on the way and had plans for a family. Her family lived here in WA so that is why she moved here. She moved several months prior to my move. Once I moved here -- jobless of course I landed a job at Staples working in the copy & print center. It wasn't my field and anyone could do it, but it was a job and I actually enjoyed it. I basically did crafts all day long. After working there for a while I worked at a local aftermarket parts store in town for about 3 weeks. While I was there I got a job offer at a Nissan dealership and my son was born. The birth of my first certainly eased my transition from job to job without any hard feelings.
In June of 2007 I went to work at Olympia Nissan, which is part of Bruce Titus Auto Group. I was hired to run their Internet department for 3 websites. When I joined their team I didn't know what to expect. What I found was that we had 1 stable site and 2 sites that truly lacked in traffic. So I guess I was there for about 3 months when I really understood my surroundings and what I was up against. I finally convinced our upper management team that it was time to spend some money to make some money. So my main goal was to build up our Mitsubishi business. It seemed more exciting. I had more experience in Mopar (Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep), but that site was dead and the competition was HUGE. So I got what I wished for and began advertising on www.evolutionm.net. I got a few orders here and there from members of the site. After I investigate it further it seemed like there was a phenomenal amount of people and that my chances of building there were good -- and boy were they.
Without going into every single detail of the past 2 years I will close with a small statement.
At the end of 2008 I compared our numbers from 2007 to 2008 and we doubled our business in the online market place. During that time I have become more and more passionate about what I do, cars and customer service in general. Everyday I go in and try to take care of every person one by one like they are the only person Ive dealt with all day. This is what I would say has grown our business the most. I'm not a 'salesperson' type. I want to help you get what you need, not what I want you to need and I hope that you come back next time. I believe in longevity, not record breaking months with huge back slides the following few months.
Ive created this blog so that my customers and potential customers can understand who I am as a person. Also, this will be a place for parts updates, parts information, service information. If it has to do with Mitsubishi -- it will be here.
If you care to contribute to my blog feel free to let me know. Id love to know about your vehicle or project and would be ecstatic if you shared it with me to include in my blogs.
(oh and Ive never really used a blog so if I seem like a grammaticaly handicapped person I hope to get better)

lets try this one more time....
ReplyDeleteI was going to post a feedback on mitsubishiparts.net in general and russell in particular but since you created this blog I feel that it would be better suited here.
I said this on evom and I will say it again here. With an abundance of negative buying experiences of mitsu owners russell is truly God sent to us mitsu lovers. All of the bad taste in your mouth about your dealership, russell will without a doubt wash those away.
I bought my X back in april, 2008 and unquantifiable pm's ensued right after. Although I have yet to buy something from him :) he has answered each and every pm as if I was a VIP customer.
I even remember that at one point we were even talking about my unemployment and how excited I was about my first child being born. This demonstrates his dedication to his customers or soon to be customers.
Keep up the excellent customer service!

Just saw your Blog and apparently I am your first follower. In the past, my online Mitsu parts went to Rey Reece. Hoping you can take me away from them.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck! I think that I am the first follower to your blog. In the past, I ordered my Mitsu parts on-line from the Rey Reece group. Hopefully you can change tha !
